The castle is built on a rocky crag with steep cliffs most of the way around.

We weren't feeling energetic enough (or willing to pay the fee) to climb to the top.

Two of the Three Sisters of Glencoe.

After a nice few days in York we picked up a car and drove north. We had some typical British weather along the way until we crossed the Scottish border where the sun came out and it ended up being quite warm. I always seem to have good luck with the weather in Scotland!

Our destination was Stirling where we spent a day exploring the castle and the town. The castle is really impressive and has so much interesting history.

The next morning we drove into the Highlands, stopping at Loch Lomond. It's such a nice drive through the countryside and the mountains.
